A Sailboat and the Kingdom of God

A Sailboat and the Kingdom of God 300 300 The Provisum Group

If you’ve ever been on a sailboat, you know that you can set the sails properly, but you cannot make the wind blow.

In the management of the church, we can create great systems and infrastructure, but it is God who grows our churches. A healthy church will recognize its responsibility to be ready and prepared for the growth that God will provide.

God wants us to pray diligently and ask him to lead people to our churches so that they can experience hope and healing. Just be sure that you are ready for the growth you are hoping to see. Work hard with your staff and volunteers to figure out how new people can organically and easily connect with the life of the church.

Are you church’s internal systems capable of supporting the growth you hope to achieve?

Also, if your church is not growing, could it be possible that you are not prepared for such growth. Remember: we serve a wise God who sees all. He will not give us more than we can handle.

Jesus once told a parable about certain employees who were faithful to their employer. In the end, the employees who were faithful in the small things were given more.

As you seek to grow your church, may the Spirit of God speak to you and say: “Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!”
